Post Pier
The sun was setting in Bevin Port, the gorgeous orange and violet colors pooling above the sun as it disappeared under the sea to let the moon slip in as substitute. It had been a long day at the Inn as per usual, Genesis and Lorelei figured they could burn off steam with a run. However, as it usually goes, they see all the same customers from the Inn at the beach to admire the romantic sunset that they've seen since they were little; hence losing it's glimmer of course. This being the case they lost all enthusiasm for running and ended up walking along the pier and saying hello to fishermen and any other friendly neighborly faces.

"So...Rory, from the shack was cute." Genesis stated out of no where for no reason in particular. She knew how Lorelei was about guys and the idea of love and relationships, but Genesis knew that there was someone out there for Lorelei; just waiting to love her. Genesis also had a thing for faces and names, never forgetting anyone. This made it easy for her to determine that the twosome were one in the same. Both seemingly shy and awkward; adorable and funny. Heck, Rory was short for Lorelei for girls; how perfect is that? Very much so according to Genesis.

"Oh, yeah umhewascutebutIdon'tknow." Lorelei stammered quickly; immediately blushing and looking away as she tugged and fidgeted at the hems of her running shorts and shirt.

"Rory, Rory, Rory, Rory!"

Rory was casually, and tactfully, leaning against the mast of The Lady Rosaline, winding up a length of new rope he'd just picked up for the mast while his younger sister, Fiona, sat perched on the dock watching him. The young girl had stopped by to see her elder brother on her way home from running errands, as she usually did before proceeding home to tend to the housework in place of Rory (as he was almost always preoccupied with work and other such things) and their mother. She'd made herself comfortable by slipping off her shoes and dipping her toes into the water lapping at the dock's edge while watching Rory tend to their father’s ship.

Rory peaked up to see Fiona waving her hand about in question while reaching up with her other to try and tame back vivacious black curls. He gave a chuckle and pointed to her.

"Yes, Fiona?" He grinned before returning to his work.

"Is it true that Da taught you how to sail when you were my age? Is it?" She asked, sputtering over her words as she lowered her hand.

"Actually, he took me out when I was twelve years old and let me have a turn at the helm." Rory corrected with a nod as he eyed his rope a bit with an amused smile playing at his lips.

"So are you going to take me out soon then? Teach me, yeah? Yeah?" Fiona inquired, earning a snort of laughter from Rory as he looked back up.

"You? Not any time soon. You're too excitable, the whole lot of you actually." He teased before he took on a more somber smile, shaking his head. "Besides, I don't think Mom would like that too much." He said, which was more truth than lie as he couldn't imagine asking his mother, after what had happened to his father, to allow any of his younger siblings a turn at the helm.

Genesis merely laughed before adorning a devious expression upon coincidentally spotting Rory on a boat; talking to a little girl on the dock. A little sister maybe? Neighbor girl who needed a daddy figure? This was too perfect, Lorelei's terrible soft spot for children and this cute and awkward young man; match made in heaven, time to react as ultimate wing man. At least Genesis thought she was being one.

"Hey Lorelei look, it's your pretty boy." Genesis said with a cheeky grin.

"Huh? What? Where?" Lorelei inquired; blushing as she looked around the dock, clearly struggling to spot him.

"THERE!" Genesis yelled, pointing in a random directions. When Lorelei turned her head to look; SHOVE. Genesis pushed her off the dock and into the water.

The swirling image of brown and purple could be seen under the blue green water as Lorelei bobbed to the top. Sucking in a deep gulp of air as she slicked her brunette locks back and waded in place. Her violet tank top and navy blue jogging shorts went from her standard work out uniform to a swim suit as she shifted her gaze back and forth between the water and her friend; surprised and astonished.

"What was that for?" Lorelei yelled, looking around for the best method of returning to the dock.

Fiona went to rebuttle her brother's statement when a loud splash distracted her, drawing her attention towards the pier where a girl appeared to have fallen into the water, drawing instant panic into the young girl. Her mouth gaped wide and she jumped up to her feet and proceeded to run to the other end of the dock, towards the girl bathing in the salt water.

"Oh my gosh, Rory! Save her! Do something! Should I do something? I can do something, can't I? I'll do something!" Fiona asked, frantic as she skid to a halt at the other end of the dock.

Meanwhile, Rory arched his eyebrows in confusion and proceeded to climb off The Lady Rosaline and onto the deck, going to investigate as well, meanwhile, this took far too long for Fiona's taste as she promptly threw herself into the water in the time it took Rory to climb off the boat. Her clothes flounced up about her frame and she doggy paddled her way over to the girl, her wet hair now sticking to her face as she kept her head above the water.

"Don't worry, lady! I'll help you!" She announced.

Lorelei went to yell at Genesis further when the voice of a little caught her attention. Lorelei was a lonely child; victim of a miserable family that was founded on secrets and scandal. Most children thought she was weird or that her family was trouble so she had few friends. But in the home she was alone too, her Mother was always with a new boyfriend who would 'pay the bills' and her Father bailed upon the evidence of betrayal. So all the chores fell to Lorelei; cooking, cleaning, even tucking herself in at night. This gave her the impression that every child needed her; needed someone to be the adult for any amount of time so they could be a kid. And Lorelei took this idea very seriously. Upon turning her head and seeing the little girl bobbing towards her, her eyes grew wide and went into panic mode assuming the little girl was the one who needed help.

"What are you doing? You'll catch a cold!" She yelled at the little girl, swimming over to her. "How are you getting home? You can't walk anywhere in clothes that are soaking wet." She scolded like a concerned Mother.

Genesis stifled a light chuckle as she watched her friend, the chuckle subsiding into a content Cheshire grin. "I'll see you back home okay? I gotta go do some stuff!" Genesis called before giving a thumbs up and jogging away. Lorelei adorned about the most sour expression known to man before quickly shaking it off to turn her attention back to the little girl.

"Don't worry about me, miss lady ma'am! I'm here to save you since my good for nothing brother wouldn't do anything!" Fiona donned a proud grin as she flounced about in the water. She reached up and wiped away her sloppy, wet tendrils.

"Good for nothing?" Rory inquired upon reaching the other end of the dock, hands tucked away in his pant pockets and a faux bitter expression on his face. Unlike Lorelei, he knew the extent of his sister's capabilities and knew that she was well enough off.

"Yeah, a good for nothing!" Fiona hollered over her shoulder before she let out a cheeky giggle.

"Oh well sweety, I'm fine. But let's get someplace dry, okay?" Lorelei said with a nod and a slight dimpled grin as she smiled at the girl.

"Oh, okay! Rory! We need somewhere dry, can we have permission to board The Lady Rosaline?" Fiona inquired over her shoulder at her brother.

"Sure, I mean I don't see why-" Rory's tongue went numb mid sentence as he looked to the other waterlogged form in the water bobbing along with his sister, only to find otu that it was none other than the girl he'd met at work the other day, Lorelei. "Oh uh, hi." He sputtered.

Lorelei hadn't paid any mind to the male figure as she was fixated on the little girl. But instantaneously, upon seeing Rory she locked up. "Oh, yeah, hi. Funny meeting you again like that." She chuckled half heartedly.

"Uh, yeah, heh, funny." Rory said, managing a feigned laugh in an attempt to mask his nervousness. He reached up and tousled his hair before gesturing to the boat. "You guys can climb aboard. I've got some towels stored below." He nodded.

"Thanks, I appreciate it." Lorelei said meekly, licking her lips before grinning at the little girl. "Little ones first." She said with a grin before splashing Fiona lightly and nodding for her to go first.

"Hey, I'm not a little one! I'm thirteen years old, I'm practically a lady!" Fiona protested, poking her tongue out with a giggle as she began swimming for the bow of The Lady Rosaline. Rory had proceeded to make his way back to the schooner himself and had already hopped aboard to unfurl a wooden ladder for Fiona and Lorelei to climb up.

"Alright Miss Lady," Lorelei laughed simply, swimming behind Fiona as they approached the boat for boarding.

Fiona clambered up the rope ladder, flopping herself onto the schooner's bow without an ounce of grace before proceeding to scramble over the deck towards the door in front of the helm leading down below. Shuffling could be heard below the deck before the young girl reemerged with two towels in hand.

Meanwhile, Rory stood at the rope ladder still, hovering at the boat's edge, before offering a hand out to Lorelei.

"Need a had mayhaps?" He asked.

"Uh yeah, thanks." Lorelei said with a sheepish smile as she swam up and began hoisting herself up. Taking Rory's hand, she pulled her body up before plopping down on two long legs; gracefully, unlike the younger girl before her.
