"Uh huh, uh huh. Well I'm here now, though you're welcome to make future passes at her in my absence." Genesis said, folding her arms and leaning on the table while Lorelei fidgeted at her side. "Provided she doesn't overheat first." She commented.

"Rory! This is Genesis. Genesis, this is Rory." Lorelei said, cutting off her friend for a swift but tardy introduction.

Rory gave a sheepish chuckle and fought the heat building up in his cheeks, deciding that him tripping up once upon meeting Lorelei was already more than enough embarrassment for the night. He offered his hand out to Genesis.

"Rory, obviously, it's nice to meet you." He said.

"Charmed." Genesis said curtly, giving Rory's hand a brief and firm hand shake. "Don't fight the heat, you guys could match." She teased further with a devious grin. Lorelei opened her mouth but had nothing to say as she closed it again before licking her lips and running a hand through her thick curls anxiously as she fought her own rosy cheeks; what do you say to something like that?

"Alrigh, I think it's time I go." Rory gave a nervous laugh and withdrew his hand from Genesis' and stepped back, reaching up to scratch at the bristly hairs at the back of his neck.

"Well wait, can you take our order?" Genesis asked, completely and suddenly normal as she nodded at the menu. "Or send over someone who can? We're starving." She said bluntly.

"Oh, uh, sure, yeah, sorry." Rory said, succumbing to the embarrassed flushing in his cheeks as he fumbled for his order booklet in the front of his waist-apron. His fingers tripped and stumbled as he opened up the booklet and grabbed up his pencil. "Uh, what can I get for you guys?" He asked, instantaneously trying to pull himself together.

"I'll have Joe's Surf and Turf burger with a side of fries." Genesis said with a nod, slouching back in the seat.

"Shrimp pasta alfredo for me, please." Lorelei nodded; the two had their usuals, these dishes being one of them.

"Surf and turf and shrimp pasta alfredo, got it." Rory nodded as he jotted down the order, slipping the occasional glance in Lorelei's general direction.

"Great, thank you." Lorelei said with a pleased and dimpled smile as she handed their menus to him; her face no longer rosy or flushed as she began to relax again.

"You're welcome." Rory said, offering a similar casual smile as he reached out to grab the menus from Lorelei. His fingers briskly brushed hers and he bit back a nervous smile as he pulled them away from her.
